The last time Texas exited the Red River Rivalry unbeaten, the Horns went on to win a national title. That 2005 title team was of course led by Vince Young and VY left for the NFL the next season. A kid named Colt McCoy took his place, and Texas fans wondered how in the world they could ever replace one of the greatest college quarterbacks ever. Move ahead 3 years to Saturday in the Cotton Bowl. Colt McCoy throws and runs the Horns past Oklahoma. 5 beats 1 and suddenly Texas fans are thinking national title again. How classic would it be for the kid who replaced VY to do just what VY had done? Lead Texas to the top of college football.
